Behavioral Addiction & EMDR Intensives
For people who are high-functioning… and quietly not okay
You’re not lazy.
You’re not weak.
And you’re definitely not “just lacking discipline.”
If you’re here, there’s a good chance you already know why you do the thing.
You’ve read the books.
Listened to the podcasts.
Maybe you’ve even been in therapy before.
And yet…
You still find yourself back in the same loop.
Scrolling at 2am when you’re exhausted.
Numbing out when your brain won’t shut up.
Telling yourself “this is the last time” — again.
That’s not a motivation problem.
That’s a nervous system that learned a pattern… and never got the update.
Let’s call it what it is
Behavioral addictions aren’t about the behavior.
They’re about what your system is trying to regulate.
Whether it’s:
Doom scrolling
Porn or sex
Gambling
Work
Food
Infidelity
Substances
Or anything that gives you a quick hit of relief
Your brain is doing exactly what it was trained to do:
avoid overwhelm & seek safety as fast as possible
The problem?
It’s using outdated code.
“But I’ve already done the work…”
I know.
Most of my clients are:
High performers
Deeply self-aware
The “strong one” in their circle
You can explain your patterns.
You can trace them back to childhood.
You know your triggers.
And still… your body reacts like it didn’t get the memo.
That’s because insight is not resolution & it’s certainly not always relief.
You don’t think your way out of a nervous system pattern.
You update it.
Why EMDR works (especially if you’re skeptical)
I’m not here to sell you magic.
I’m actually pretty allergic to anything that sounds like wellness fluff.
Here’s the simple version:
Your brain stores experiences in networks.
When something overwhelming happens and doesn’t get processed properly, it gets “stuck.”
So now?
Your present-day life keeps getting filtered through old data.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps your brain:
Reprocess those stuck experiences
Reduce the emotional charge
Update the way your system responds
Translation:
the urge loses its grip because the root got handled
Not managed.
Not avoided.
Handled.
“Do I have to talk about everything?”
Honestly? No.
If you hate talking in circles, you’re going to like this.
We don’t need to analyze every detail of your past for months.
We focus on:
The patterns you’re stuck in
The moments your system learned them
And updating those at the source
Less over-explaining.
More actual change.
Why intensives?
Because doing this work 1 hour a week while life is still chaos… is slow.
Intensives give us:
Focused time
Faster momentum
Deeper nervous system shifts
This isn’t “therapy forever.”
This is:
let’s actually move the needle.
Okay, so now what…..
Real talk
You might be functioning.
You might even be excelling.
But if you’re honest…
You’re tired of:
White-knuckling your way through urges
Feeling disconnected in relationships
Carrying a constant low-level anxiety
Wondering if this is just how life is going to feel
It doesn’t have to be.
What this work actually gives you
Not perfection.
Not some unrealistic “healed” identity.
But:
Space in your brain
Relief in your body
Choice instead of compulsion
The ability to feel calm without earning it
And yeah… probably better sleep too.
About me (so you can decide if this is a fit)
I’m not a blank-slate therapist.
I will teach you what’s happening in your brain.
I will probably make a joke at some point.
I will absolutely celebrate your wins.
I’m also not for everyone.
But if you want:
Direct, honest guidance
A science-backed approach
And a therapist who treats you like a human, not a case study
Also, my office has snacks.
Because therapy is hard and I’m not a monster.
If you’re still unsure
That makes sense.
Skepticism is welcome here.
You don’t have to believe this will work.
You just have to be willing to test a different approach.
Ready to stop managing and actually change the pattern?
This is where things shift.
Schedule your EMDR Intensive Consultation
We’ll talk through:
What’s been going on
Whether this approach makes sense for you
And what next steps would look like
No pressure.
No therapy-speak.
Just a real conversation.
You’ve done enough surviving.
Let’s update the system.

Schedule a fee 30 minute zoom consultation directly on my calendar & let’s talk.

Maybe it won’t.
Maybe you won’t get the result you want - maybe you’ll get something better (or worse, I mean, I can’t rule it out).
Be skeptical, ask your questions - schedule a free 30 minute zoom consultation, directly on my calendar, and let’s talk - no strings attached.
I can tell you that as a client of EMDR and a therapist using EMDR with clients everyday - I spend a decent amount of time asking “are you messing with me?” because even I am sometimes shocked at how quick and effective it can be.
It probably won’t get you the exact result you want - I mean honestly, when does that ever happen, but I’ve never seen it do nothing & at least you’ll know you tried.
(yeah, I know that doesn’t make it feel better - what else was I supposed to say there? I can’t make any promises, but if the alternative is giving up, don’t you want to know you bet on yourself one more time?)
I send an email with scheduling availability after the call and if you want you can just ignore it, but if the only risk is wasting 30 minutes of your time, why not schedule the call?
